A Message to Our Membership from Our New Office Manager
Upon graduation, I moved to Los Angeles where I was involved in many social justice issues such as women’s and workers’ rights. I worked for the LA Gay and Lesbian Center and volunteered with various grass roots organizations. In 2012, I was sent back to Iowa to work as a Field Organizer for the re-election campaign of Barack Obama. I recently graduated with my master’s degree from SIT (School for International Training) in Peacebuilding, Conflict Transformation, and Sustainable Development.
After graduate school, I worked as the Gender Coordinator for a non-profit in Liberia where I ran and developed programs for women. While in Liberia, I met my husband. We have been married for 3 years and have a one-year old daughter named Liberty Tekonblah.
