The Mississippi River Network
The Mississippi River Plastic Pollution Initiative is collecting data through a community/citizen science approach to create a plastic pollution map. The map will help understand the state of plastic pollution along the River and help scientists, policy-makers, businesses, and our communities take action.
Be a part of the solution to combat plastic pollution along the Mississippi River, become a debris tracker, help collect data on litter.

Earth Day Virtual Trivia Night

This event is sponsored by QCEC and the Center for Biological Diversity. It highlights the struggles of endangered species and the importance of maintaining biological diversity for the health of all life on our planet. Teams can consist of two to six members, and the cost of $25 will help support local conservation programs. To register your team, go to https://qcearth.org/events.

Because it is Earth Day Month, we will gather virtually with fellow Christians to pray for our Earth. We will take time to bring to mind the people, animals, plants, insects and all living creatures that inhabit our planet. We will remember the struggles and the joys, the fears, the hope, and our faiths that bind us together. Led by ministers of the area.

Master Conservationist Program

Do you want to learn more about nature conservation in a fun, hands-on setting? Explore unique habitats in the area with fellow conservationists and learn from trained professionals about what YOU can do to live a life of environmental stewardship.
The Master Conservationist Program runs from April 28th through August 18th. It uses field experiences and classroom trainings to cover a broad range of conservation issues and topics including Iowa ecosystems, wildlife, sustainable agriculture, and energy use. These experiences help Iowans make informed, intelligent choices for a lifestyle of stewardship. Participants receive at least 32 hours of indoor and outdoor hands-on education led by trained professionals in their field. The range of topics provides information that can be useful in service to the community and in their own backyards.
Register for the Master Conservationist Program by Friday, April 23rd.
