Working Together: Make America Progressive Again Online Fund Drive

PACG Message to our membership

Our first Online Fund Drive was a great success! With the matching grants, we raised about $3,800. More importantly, we learned a lot about Facebook and about making videos. Check out our feature videos on the home page of our website, pacgqc.org.

Thanks to all who donated. A special thanks to our Facebook Ambassadors:  Allison Ambrose; Cath Bolkcom; Linnea Crowther; Alta Price; Caryn Unsicker; and Caroline Vernon. We are also grateful to our many donors who give in other ways through the year. We couldn't do all we do without all of you!

Drug Policy is our newest Issue Forum. Caroline Vernon and Dan DeShane are the co-facilitators. Since drug policy issues are often decided at the state level, there will be different actions and educational events for Illinois and for Iowa.

In this video Dan and Caroline talk about their early involvement in PACG as well as their plans for the future of the Drug Policy Forum.

The Drug Policy Forum portion of our website is under construction. To get involved, join the PACG Drug Policy Forum on Facebook or email Caroline.

Working Together: Make America Progressive Again - A Message to Our Membership

8/27/2018

The first annual PACG online fund drive started Sunday, August 26th and ends on Labor Day! We have been Working Together to Make America Progressive Again since our founding in 2005. Please support our continued efforts. Although we have always spent our money wisely, we operate with limited funds and we need some money to support our multiple Issue Forums and educational events.

Those of you on Facebook will be getting requests to share our messages and cool videos with your Friends on Facebook. You can also contribute to one of our Facebook Ambassadors’ personal fund drives. The money is collected through Facebook to be delivered to PACG.

We won't leave out those of you not on Facebook. You'll want to see our videos, too! We will be sending out two or three stand-alone emails this week to share the videos and encourage donations. There will also be links at our website (go to http://www.pacgqc.org/ to check it out on Tuesday).

You can donate several different ways this week: with Facebook, online and by US mail.

Donate through one of our Facebook Ambassadors’ fundraisers if you are on Facebook. Hopefully you are Facebook Friends with one of them. Please share their fundraisers with your Friends! The Facebook Ambassadors’ fundraisers will be matched by a generous donor.

You can also Donate online through our website.

If you don’t want to donate online, send a check. Checks can be made to “PACG” and sent to 1212 W 3rd St, Suite 3D
Davenport IA 52802

There are matching donations for money raised this week through Facebook or online through our website.

We look forward to our work together in the future to achieve our progressive goals.
Thank you for your continued support.

Alta Price, Board President

Working Together Online Fund Drive: Make America Progressive Again - Health Care Reform - ACA

8/26/2018

The Health Care Reform Forum has been working for affordable quality health care for all since 2005. They were active in working towards passage of the Affordable Care Act. One of their projects was collecting handprints to represent the thousands of Americans estimated to die every year for lack of health insurance. The project included a celebrity panel, as you will see in this video. They were also instrumental in leading efforts to save the ACA when the new administration tried to repeal it.

Working Together Online Fund Drive: Make America Progressive Again - Civil Rights - Juvenile Justice

Jane Duax attended a PACG Civil Rights panel discussion at St. Ambrose on racial disparities in sentencing and mass incarceration. She was so impressed with the panel, she took the program from the event and started meeting individually with each panelist. Out of those efforts came the Juvenile Justice Working Group of Scott County. The group she founded - inspired by this PACG event - meets every other Friday to work on Juvenile Justice issues involving leaders and activists in the Quad Cities. Contact Jane to get involved.

One of the great things about PACG is all the wonderful people you meet! We wish James, one of our first employees, was still in the Quad Cities. We run into him sometimes when he is back visiting family. Thank goodness for the internet and social media, which can help us stay in touch with old friends. James also did great work as the leader of an earlier Forum, Reclaiming Moral Values.

Working Together Online Fund Drive: Make America Progressive Again - Health Care Reform Die-In

Health Care Reform has been active since our founding. Although this video is long, it is definitely old gold. In the run up to the Affordable Care Act, many many PACG members took action for "affordable quality health care for all" even if they weren't officially in the Health Care Reform Forum. Are you in this video? Do you remember this memorable action?

Please watch and then Donate to PACG to help us continue our efforts. Also Like our PACG Facebook page, the Health Care Reform Facebook page and all of our posts!
