This August, the Central Iowa Source Water Research Assessment Team (CISWRA) released the final Water Quality Report. Dr. Jerry Schnoor, one of the scientific advisors on the project, will share their findings and how water contaminants can affect our health.

August Green Drinks - The Living Building - Stanley Center

Find out how Stanley Center converted the former Muscatine Public Library into a green and sustainable building. It is on track to be the world’s second building renovation to achieve full Living Building certification from the International Living Future Institute. You'll also learn how the work performed inside the building impacts world peace and security.

The Rock Island West End Revitalization (WER) initiative has made significant strides to grow this historical neighborhood. Improvements made to Rauch Family Park and Franklin Field made these sites more user friendly to the community. Avery Pearl, WER Coordinator will lead us on a tour of these areas.

The tour will begin from the Martin Luther King Center Parking Lot. We will be driving to some of the sites. Bring a friend.

A sixth-generation farmer, Todd continues his family's 160-year-old legacy, growing corn and soybeans on Western Family Farms, the oldest Black-owned farm in Iowa. Todd will explain how modern, sustainable, and equitable practices are incorporated into their farming activities.

Join us on Thursday, April 3rd at 5 pm for our April Green Drinks. We will tour Green Current Solutions in East Moline. This local business transforms plastic waste collected by Living Lands & Waters into reusable and recyclable industrial pallets. After the tour, we will reconvene at Jennie's Boxcar Restaurant at 545 12th Avenue, East Moline (map) for refreshments and networking.
