Community Discussion on Health Care
Thursday, August 21st at 7:30 pm
On Thursday August 21st at 7:30 pm, Iowa for Health Care is holding a community event at United Neighbors office on 808 Harrison Street in Davenport.
Speakers at the event will discuss the challenges facing women and families in a health care system that is increasingly plagued by higher costs and lower quality. Participants will also discuss their concerns about Senator John McCain's recent policy proposals, which would do nothing to control costs, would make it harder for Americans to get coverage and would erode consumer protections already in place.
Panel speakers for the event include local Health Care Voters: Karen Metcalf, Caroline Vernon and Shirley McClemore. The event is open to the public and allows time for open discussion about this important topic. The health care system in this country has reached a crisis point, and the longer we wait to act, the worse it is going to get.
