PACG MOURNS PASSING OF PROGRESSIVE LEADER ANNE CORBI
Anne Corbi, a valued and loved member of PACG, passed away on Friday. Anne was active in many capacities over the years, recently serving on the Board and holding the office of Board Treasurer. She cared deeply about the Earth and was the facilitator of the Environmental Forum. She served on many committees and her help was invaluable in keeping PACG vibrant.
Anne was a woman of many talents, a passionate activist, and a wonderful friend. We mourn her passing, even as we consider ourselves blessed to have had her in our lives. Please keep her husband, Roland Caldwell, children, Emily, Sarah, and Claire, and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers.

Anne Corbi, 66, a resident of Davenport passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park, Davenport. Her family will greet friends Wednesday December 21, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Credit Island Lodge. A memorial tribute and time for remembrances to celebrate Anne’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. A memorial will be held in New York at a later date. Honoring her wishes the rite of cremation has been accorded.
Anne Corbi was born February 22, 1950 in Bronx, New York, a daughter of Eliadoro Corbi and Angelina Civitano. She had been married to Leonard Bowman. She was then united in marriage to Roland Caldwell on December 24, 1998, in Davenport.
Anne had an extensive education, earning a Juris Doctorate and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, which prepared her well to serve in many organizations that directly improved the quality of life in the Quad Cities. In her professional work Anne was a housing planner for the City of Davenport and Project NOW in Rock Island. While employed for Project NOW Anne served on the Housing Action Illinois Board and helped found and lead a 15 county Northwestern Illinois Continuum of Care coalition to help meet the needs of the homeless. Between 2008 and 2013 Anne served as primary assistant to Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba.
Anne fought passionately for the causes she believed in, to create a fairer, greener and more just society. Anne served as vice chair of the Davenport Levee Improvement Commission, as secretary of the Quad Cities Food Hub Board of Directors and as Treasurer for the Board of Directors for Progressive Action for the Common Good (PACG) where she also headed the Environmental Forum. She was an active member of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement (ICCI) and part of their effort to improve water quality in Iowa. Anne also served as a Board Member of Quad Citians Affirming Diversity and was Chairperson of the National Alliance on Mental Illness of the Greater Mississippi Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be made in honor of Anne Corbi to Progressive Action for the Common Good and Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement.
Survivors include her husband Roland of Davenport and her three daughters and their spouses; Emily Anne Bowman (David Crowe), Boulder, CO, Sarah (Rene) Burrell, Stans, Switzerland, and Claire Bowman (David Hindman), Berkley, CA; a grandchild, Cecelia Anne Burrell; her mother, Angelina Civitano, of New York and her 7 siblings in New York; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family and great friends.
She was preceded in death by her father.
