UPDATE ON PICNIC PLANNING
The Second Annual PACG picnic is fast approaching–Saturday, September 13, 12-3 PM, in Garfield Park in Davenport.
If you haven’t yet read the information from last week’s newsletter (see below), please check it out–and then send in your ticket money. I promise you that $10 is a bargain price for all the good food, entertainment, information, and fellowship that we have in store.
Just a few updates to share this week:
First, we are very fortunate to have Toby Paone from the Iowa State Education Association as our main speaker. He will be helping us understand some of the key issues facing public education these days. The board is hoping that his remarks will spur ACTION from some folks in PACG.
Second, there have been questions about whether we will have a repeat of last year’s successful (and yummy!) pie auction. The answer is: YES, YES, YES. If you would like to donate a pie, please call Alta Price at 563-505-2996 and she will add you to the list.
Finally, we are looking for volunteers to help with tasks such as making a few phone calls, or set-up, and clean-up. While not very exciting, these are all essential to making this a successful event for everyone. If you can help, please e-mail Caryn Unsicker, [email protected].
Hope to see you on Sept. 13!
