The Woodstock Music Festival attracted more than 400,000 attendees in the summer of 1969. That same summer the comparable Harlem Cultural Festival took place just 100 miles away in Harlem, NY, attracting nearly 300,000 attendees. But film footage has never been seen until now. Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) can currently be seen in theaters and on-demand on the streaming service Hulu. This documentary contains important information about black history and cultural heritage. It’s joyous to watch, and the music is outstanding!
